Designcore, LTD  

Located in Brooklyn, NY, Designcore is a fast growing architectural woodworking company that was spending too much time fighting with their technical systems.  They encountered almost daily problems with software, hardware, internet connectivity, e-mail, infrastructure, even their telephone system.  Of course, this was taking time away from what should have been their primary focus: managing and continuing to grow their business as well as taking care of their clients and finding new clients.  

Their technical support was provided by a company X.  Company X would come to the facility to address a problem sometimes two or three days after the problem was reported to them.  They would address that one problem, leave, send an invoice and that process would be repeated over and over again.  Company X also provided much of the equipment employed at Designcore, LTD.  This equipment was always private branded hardware which we are sure was profitable for Company X, but not always the best selection to meet the needs at DesignCore, LTD.  The cost and quality of their technical support coupled with the cost of downtime and loss of productivity had reached an unacceptable level.

Designcore invited Rosa & Castan Associates to help them to take back control of their technology and reign in out of control costs.  The first step was to perform a thorough audit of their existing environment.  This not only provided a clear understanding of their current state, but also helped to indentify security concerns and other vulnerabilities that could have an impact on the business.  In addition, the audit helped to highlight opportunities for productivity improvements and cost reductions as well as providing a roadmap for moving forward.  

Working with Rosa & Castan Associates, Designcore has made dramatic improvements.  Now, the daily battles with software and hardware are a thing of the past.  Telephone and Internet access are not only more reliable, but actually cost less than the prior system.   How was this accomplished?  At Rosa & Castan we take the time to fully understand your needs and design and select solutions best suited to the tasks and your budget.  For Designcore, we were able to:

  •  Upgrade network components to achieve faster more reliable performance,.
  •  Understand the needs of each user and assure that each computer workstation had the proper hardware and software to enable the staff member to effectively perform his/her job.
  •  Develop redundant solutions to minimize the probability of telephone and Internet interruptions.
  • Upgrade firewall and backup solutions to enhance their data and network security.
  •  Regular maintenance, upgrade and service are critical to assure proper continued operation of all systems.  In addition, user technical support is equally as critical.   At Designcore, we are able to support these concerns through regularly scheduled site visits as well as via remote access.   

Of course, the cost to implement such as plan is very important.  In this case, the cost reductions coupled with the productivity improvements and reduced downtime more than cover the cost of our services.  In addition, for Designcore, we were also able to identify over $3,000 of refunds and credits due to DesignCore resulting from a review of vendor contracts.
